The Unconscious Block

Whatever philosophical, scientific, or esoteric viewpoint individuals may believe is correct about the unconscious mind, access to accumulated knowledge about oneself plays a significant role in developing the Art of Focus.
There have been many writings about the process and many different techniques have been developed especially with esoteric meditation techniques to get past the unconscious blocks. Perhaps a simple beginning might be easier. If an individual considers that the mind is a holder or reservoir of thoughts, feelings, beliefs, and experiences already happened, then getting past the unconscious block begins as a journey through “memory lane.” If an individual considers the mind as that and something more, perhaps even having mystical abilities, then getting past the unconscious blocks begins as a journey into a sense of the spiritual self.
One of the most important aspects of gaining intimacy with self, whether initiated by traveling through memories or spiritual development, is the willingness to be open minded and to accept the possibility that one may discover more about the core self. By achieving this intimacy, an individual can learn to view self through the eyes of love, understanding, kindness, and forgiveness. In fact, it is more likely that an individual will discover depths to self that seemed impossible. Openness is only the first step in getting past the unconscious block.
