Joan H. Hageman, PhD
Dr. Hageman is a multi-talented professional who is dedicated to helping others find their synch with nature, other humans, all life forms, and the inner wisdom that is part of the human experience. Her personal life journey has taught her that the human is connected to all life and that whatever sense of divinity that individuals experience is an invaluable source of guidance.
Having discovered her aborginal roots that was a family secret, she came to understand the immense healing power of discovering oneself through the life stories of ancestors, especially as revealed through the societal and cultural personal narratives. She relates that in growing up in the southern mountains of West Virginia within the Appalachian cultural environment, she had not known the history of her ancestors and how much they had contributed to her sensitivity to nature and to others as well as to the deep sense of her commitment to the divine within her. She believes that her intuitiveness and natural curiosity to discover truths led her to seek a life's work dedicated to the well being of all people and to the global sustainability of the Earth. She believes that the responsibility for sustainability also rests within the human experience.
Along the way of her personal growth and academic achievements, she came to see the greater wisdom in combining the intuitive with the logical scientific approach in exploring the nature of reality, other ways of knowing, and the immense variety of human experience.
Dr. Hageman is a unique compassionate person who enlivens the personal journey to self, which she refers to as the "Journey to Self-Intimacy" and to the resultant process as the "harmonized self."
